My '99 Explorer has 96,000 miles on it and is slowly giving me electrical problems. First the Frt pass door lock stopped locking all 4 doors, then I have started troubleshooting a lean burn bank1&2 code, and am chasing sensors. The latest is the overhead temp/compass decided not to display.
Any thoughts? Or have any of you gone through this. I maintain this vehicle from brand new off the lot, and see a lot of not maintained ones drive by and wonder how they get by. HAH!!
Thanks for any input,

Elec. first. how old is the batt? they like good power. wall mart said mine was good. it wasn't. replaced Alt then batt.
the lean condition turned out to be low fuel pressure. after I replaced other sensors. Doh!.
they like good fuel pressure.
good luck

jEaston Jr,
Battery is about 2 years old, I like to replace them around 4-5 years old. I have to check when I replaced the fuel filter, as low fuel flow crossed my mind. I've been on line checking the temp/compass problem looking for a part description that gives me a clue as to if there is a :rolleyes:module in the thing thats bad. No luck yet.
Thanks for the reply,

Thanks Brooklyn.
Welcome to the site Mountainboys.
I have a 1999 Limited and the AC worked after I replaced the batt.
the old batt will still start a car but not enough to power the limited.
two weeks ago, i did the fuel pump.
how's your problem coming along?

Picked up the info on this site to fix the temp/compass, just have to work it in my time frame to fix it. Battery is only 1 1/2 years old.
