Well just a quick question for all the 1st gen. explorer owners. Do any of you hate your ABS as much as I do??? I just started snowing here in MI. so that means my anti-lock brakes never stop making that damn growling noise every damn time I have to stop, except I dont stop, I just keep going. I wish I could turn them off, they suck. I want just standard brakes!!! Does anyone else seem to have this problem with there ABS. I had a ranger that just had standard brakes and it would stop on snow when it was supposed to... Well just a little rant on my part, if anyone else has the same problems let me know, just so I don't feel alone.

I hat them just as much, any one know if pulling the fuse would kill the ABS?

Well after reading many other posts of how much other people hate there ABS I think Im just going to disconnect the plug to ABS unit or pull the fuse. Does anyone know which would be better to do. I'm sure they both have the same affect of turning the ABS off, but is it a good idea to unplug the harness????

pulling the fuse worked good for me

Hey Tatternuts I use to live in Fremont. I went to high school there for 2 years!! I use to go wheeln' up in a National Forest (on ORV trails) up near Jugville. I use to go to school with a guy and his last name was Tatter!! :D

No kiddin, what a small world. I went to school in Fremont from 93-97. I remember a few Tatter's when I went to school, wonder if it's the same guy.
when did ya graduate?

94 Do you remember Ed Tatter? Or a Mike Robinson? I also go by Grif on other boards so that might give you a clue of who I am!!:D

Well I do remember Mike Robinson I still see him every once and a while, and I think I remember who Ed Tatter is, is his brother Mike Tatter???? I'm not sure I will be able to figure out who ya are though, I might though, you graduated about the same time as my sister (Karen Johnson) Just to clear things up I'm Scott Johnson. I'm not sure if you will know me or not, I would of been a Freshman when ya graduated.

I remember your sister. I am Jacob Griffin. I moved over to MI in 92. I hung out with mike and Chris Robinson. I saw mike about 3 weeks ago when I went back to Fremont. Do you ever go wheeln' up in the Manistee (sp) National Forest?

I have been wheelin up in jugsville area and the crystal lake trails, but I usually don't get much further north than that. I have been up in the Manistee forest, way up north wheelin once before, but that was quite a long time ago. Is that where you use to go??? Most of my 4 wheelin is in the White Cloud area, just becasue they have good trails and power lines to go on.

I did most of my wheelin' up near jugsville area and the Crystal Lake trails also. I use to wheel a 89 full-size bronco. Got that thing buried in the mud a few times out there!! I thought that area was part of the Manistee Forest?!?!

Your probably right, come to think of it I think the forest stretches all the way down here, but who knows:D They got some nice trails out that way, plenty of spots to get stuck in, especially on the power lines, and some of the swamps out there.
