Hi,
Searching for a 2" lift kit for my 98' Sport 2wd. Where should I look and what parts are required for this? I want to stay within a reasonable buget and do some of the work myself. My shocks are also due for replacement and would like some reccomendations. Thanks for your help

Jeremy

ok, what u can do is do the Tortion twist (TT) and then purchase a Warrior shackle for the rear. then, upgrade the tires to 31's. that will give u best bang for the buck as far as 2 inch goes.

Yup, do the Warrior/TT lift for a good, easy 2". $60 and some labor. Use the search feature of this site for info. For shocks, I recommend Gabriel VSTs. You can search for info on those, too. Good luck!

I recommend 4 door leafs, also.

Your Sport is probably sagging in the rear. If you can afford it...get some 4 door leafs. I bought brand new ones for $75 a side from a local auto parts store. A salvage yard also quoted me the same price for new ones...not all yards sell new parts, though.

I also firmed up the ride with an add-a-leaf (Explorer Pro-Comp from Summit Racing) AND the Warrior shackles. Then raise the front torsions to even it out.

After that you'll be ready for the 3" body lift , 33s and new gears!!!

Once you start working on it you'll want to keep going and going unless you have more willpower than I do...so BE WARNED!!

Where might I find these?

Where might I find Warrior TT's and skackles? Any good source? Thanks for your replys and bear with me. I recently migrated over from the BMW 528i (75-81) board.

The torsion bars are part of your suspension system. At the top of this page is a button "Ex Tech Tips". Go there, then go to "torsion bar lift".

The shackles can be bought from www.4wheelparts.com . You need to call them and order WAR153.

I have no tools and very limited skills when it comes to working on cars. I was just told that the TT and shackles would cost me $500.00 on the high side and $400, on the low to have done. Does this sound right?
