First question, while i was on the journey of replacing my one O2 Sensor my dad found that my heat deflector shield for the tranny is just kinda floating in between the cat and tranny. Were does it attach to or is that how its suppose to be?
Looks something like this...

Finally, the second question i had is, how to get 3m tape off of the paint without damaging the paint. I wana take my windjammer off so i can paint it but it doesn't want to come off, any suggestions are greatly welcomed and appreciated. thank you

Have you tried heating the tape with a hair dryer or by just letting it sit in the sun all day to loosen it a bit?

Not sure if you want to try this, but I had left tape on on fenders from painting and the sticky glue stuff got stuck to it. I tried soap and some acetone didn't work. So I tried some Carb and Choke Cleaner by Gumout, it came right off with a rag. I think if you let it soak on there it should slide right out, i'm not sure if it will harm your paint for my fenders only have primer on them. It did not harm the primer. :nono:

Yea that sounds like a good idea, I would go back over that area with a coat of wax also after its done.

yeah, i'll try that sometime soon, the poor windjammers been threw alot of winters so i'm gona repaint it black with some good bumper paint.

I had duct tape all the way around my passanger side window(the window broke when my daughter laid my Sport up on its side). Anyway when it was time to remove the tape and plexiglass, I found this stuff called Goo Gone. It worked pretty good. I found it at my local hardware store. Didn't do any damage to the paint, but it took the duct tape residue right off.

That reminds me I have some stuff called 'un-du' in my desk drawer I use to remove tape and labels off of computer equipment. It has a little scrapper attached to it, works great. http://www.un-du.com/

To answer your fist question just push the heat sheild toward the tranny untill the clip
snaps around the pan and trany .

actually u got to be very careful when using that around ur paint, it will take the wax and clear coat right off, what u can use instead of that is paint thiner, paint thiner will not touch clear coat or the paint. Have used it many of times and doesn't leave a mark.

Thank you for posting about this, but the thing is there is nothing for it to clip to, i've tried and i can't feel anything for it to clip on to.

It just pinches the oil pan to the tranny .
It only goes on about half an inch .

sweet, after it stops raining i'll go down and put it back on, i figured it was probly something that easy, but at first glance it didn't look like thats how it did it, thanks

In my new one, it also has a screw hole and the bolt which holds the vacuum modulator is extended to hold the heat shield as well. That AND the clip referred to as well. Here's a pic of it..

I'm not certain but I think FORD has possibly re-engineered it. I ordered my new one in January and it got here in MAY!

I'll stop up sometime and stick the shield on. Mine was a pain too.

well i got it on and its being a pain and it keeps poping of, i'm gona try sometime later to get to stay on.
