Question 1) I have a 2WD Explorer and was wondering if the 2wd or the 4wd trans is stronger? I am towing a 2200 lb boat using the bumper hitch and all stock.

Question 2) How do I add a trans cooler and temp guage to this? I am fairly good mechinc once given the instructions. I just replaced the Radiator last year and am wondering if you just tap into the trans cooler there? What is the best kit (Made for a direct fit with minimal mods).

WHat is the max I can tow with this vehicle?

Your owners manual should state what the vehicle can tow lbs wise because it depends on your rear axle too. I don't think the strength between 2wd and 4wd is much different, but if your going to be pulling the boat out of the river, I don't know how well it'd do once on wet ground trying to pull the weight. (never owned a 2wd explorer).

Still looking for install and ideas on trans cooler

Also, where is the best spot to mount the trans cooler gauge and the routing of the line?

I haven't done that yet, so couldn't help ya there, try a search on here for trans gauge mounting or something, I'm sure someone on here has wrote something about it.
