I hit 200,000 miles the other day on my Ranger! Original engine and auto tranny (and transfer case)!

Still running strong - only a little oil oozing out of the front and rear main seals. Also, the front tranny seal leaks a little. Neither leak enough to drip, just enough to keep the bottom of the engine and tranny moist.

I never thought either would last this long - but neither are ready for replacement.

Since I won't win longest distance traveled to CCR 2002 (thanks, Gerald!) how about a new catagory - Most Miles on Truck?!?!?!?!

wow. that's a lot of miles on the auto trans.
i have 160,000 miles but it has the 5 speed manual.
still no problems, just regular maint.
congratulations:)

congrats!

I will be hitting that in the next year or so. I am also around 160,000.

I have seen or heard of many explorers and rangers runnin over 300k on origianl engines. I know one guy that just traded his 91 for a new 02. It had 350k on it with the original auto tranny!! Still ran like new and didn't burn a drop of oil! Those 4.0Ls are built to run forever.

congrats,
i hope my 92 x runs that long, shes got 117,000 on her now and she runs like new, with a few little little problems, small oil leak. but nothing has broke on her in the 2 years i've had it. *knock on wood* hehehehe

heres to another 100k plus..........cheers....

Yeah man!!! Same probs here though, a little oil on the rear seal and a lot going out the tailpipe!! I'm in need of a rebuild or new engine altogether but I know she has at least another 100K in her before I get rid of her. I have grown so close to all the little things that I am afraid to get a new truck for fear of not knowing what to fix again.

Fords Never Die! My 93 X has 212,775 miles on it, all original except the clutch at 140,000. Fun truck to drive, mom still tries to find an excuse to drive it around in favor over the new Sport Trac with auto. She says it drives like our old Volkswagon Rabbit did.

I guess I will be the first to say my motor is dying fast with 139,000 thousand, it's knocking loud when I start it and between 2-3K rpms when at 1/4 throttle. It might last another 5-6k miles but I'm not risking it, I already bought a new motor out of a 99 ranger with 11 thousand on it and it's goin in this weekend.:shoot:
