Ok i jut put in the mraltenator 200amp alt. in today. Well i got in cranked it over and all was fine. As I am setting my clock on my hu all the interior lights,hu,amps all cut out. So first thing i do is check battery cables they are good and are on tight. Than i check the fuse under the driver side dash and fuse #1 that controls inside electronics and lighting is blown. It is a 15 amp fuse i replace it the minute i put it in it blows again. Than i decide mabe i should try a bigger fuse well i put a 30 amp fuse in and lights come on but very dim and i feel the wire coming out of that fuse and it is getting hot fast. After about 1 minute the wire is smoking some so i pull fuse out. I check around the fuse box to see if any wires are open or touching metal and they are all good. I check the fuse slot itself and it looks fine metal contacts are clean and look to be working. Im stumped here any ideas?

I don't know... Even though the alternator now has the capacity to put out more amps, it will still only put out as much as you need. You should not be blowing fuses... When I put 200 amp mralternator alt in, the only problem I had with it was the fact that the pulley was too small, so I needed to modify the mounting bracket a bit to get the extra slack out of the belt.

That is why you never replace a fuse with higher rating than what was in there from the factory. Did you check the voltage output of the alternator. Maybe you have a defective voltage regulater.

I know your not suppose to put in a higher rated one but the 15 amp one that you are suppose to put in the second i put it in it blows it. Its not the altenator because that is the only fuse blowing no other ones. Im really stumped here the underhood light works not sure if that is controled by another fuse all together. Could it be the battery? The door locks and power windows continue to work. Could it be my battery needs a recharge (Stinger) since it was not getting automatically recharged with the old altenator? I have no clue here. BTW my altenator went right into place no modifiying whats so ever.

Since the Alternator was the only thing you changed/touched...maybe you pinched a wire somewhere while mounting it. Think back to what exactly you removed/unbolted when changing this thing.

nope i did not pinch anything i checked this evening and there is no wire exposed. I emailed mraltenator today and he told me to disconnect the altenator all together and try to put fuse in and see if it would blow. Well i did this and the first time i it it didn't blow and i had car in aux. and the hu and lights came on. I decided to try it again this evening and after about 3 minutes the fuse blew with altenator disconnected. I emailed the guy i bought the battery from and he said it could be a dead circuit and said it would be a pita to find. He also said it could be the regulator. Also the Stinger battery i had in there is completely dead now and i believe it is ruined. I took it to where i get my oil changed and had a high output charger charge it for 2 hrs. and it didnt work and that is what Stinger and the emailer said to do. I have a cheap wal mart everstart in there now so i can drive it but he said it may not last long if its the regulator. I have no idea what it is because it could be numerous things and all of things are happening all of a sudden. This blows ass. I can drive my truck fine just cant have radio on and interior lights wont come on :(

Update

ok i was told to try this. To have the car idling and to disconnect the postive battery terminal. The car did not die which is good but when i tried to put fuse in it blew once again. I shut off car still with positive battery cable disconnected and the fuse did not blow, but thus there was not power going to it. I than went and reconnected the postive battery cable and the fuse blew. The person said if this happened that the altenator is to strong and thus blows the fuse for protection. I mean i have talked to tons of people who have put this altenator in there explorers and this has not happen to them. Im going to try to take it to a good reliable audio shop (the guy i bought Xplorer from good guy) and see what he has to say sometime this week. Have any ideas what this may be?

I'm 99.9% sure it's not your alternator. If it was, it'd blow all the fuses in the vehicle and the fuse would not blow without the engine running.

You have a short somewhere in one of the circuits protected by fuse #1. Find out all the circuits connected to fuse #1. (it should say in your owner's manual) Then you will need to test each circuit for a short with a multimeter.

Let me know what circuits go to fuse #1 and I can help you figure out how to test them if you need help.

the #1 fuse controls Dome/courtesy lamps Power mirrors and Radio memory. Please tell me how to check circuits and where exactly they are for these! Thxs. a ton bro.
