Well after days & days of wondering where all my radiator fluid was going, and thinking I had a blown head gasket...I finally found my leak...wonderful :)
Just above the starter I noticed a little stream of water...like a little boy standing next to a creek taking a leak, coming out of the block. Climbed underneath today, and sure enough, there is a freeze plug (or expansion plug) that has a hole dead center of it. I tried searching the site a little, but find it rather difficult to navigate at times, for some tips on replacing the item.
Rather than using some sort of temp...stop leak product, I ordered some brass plugs. Question is, can this be replaced without pulling the engine?
Appears so, but input from those that have been there, down that...would really help. What all do I have to remove? Starter - Exhaust Manifold - Exhaust cross over pipe -
Thanks for any advice you might offer
Terry in Pago Pago American Samoa...yea...the one that his Ford survived the 2009 Tsunami...electrical...tranny yet
Oh tranny, other question to a tranny pro. Is it possible to change the outter bands without pulling the transmission? I just received my complete rebuild kit & two new outter bands. I don't have 2nd gear now, just 1st, Drive & Reverse. It skips 2nd, such fun.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the stock 95-01 section. You should have access to the freeze plugs without removing the engine. You can't replace a band in the transmission without doing an overhaul (rebuild time).
