2001 Sport trac 4 x 4 shifting problem

Hi. New to this site but it looks great. Looking for help. I have a 2001 Sport trac and it will not shift into 4 x 4 H or Lo. Seems like no power to the transfer motor. It started as no shift into low last year and now this winter had no 4 Hi. I've tapped on the motor. I've checked each lead to the transfer motor and no power in any position on the switch. The switch has a good ground and the indicator lamp on the switch lights when the headlights are on. The fuses are ok. The indicator lamps on the dash do not come on in either position of the switch. I thought I used to hear a relay click behind the dash but no more. I' ve read some of the posts and seem to think it is the 4 w control mod. Anyone have any advise. Thanks.

It *could* be a lot of things... without hooking up to an NGS tester, it's tough to tell for sure.

Start with the basics: In the battery junction box, check fuse #13 (20A), in teh central junction box, fuses 35 (15A), 10 (7.5A), and 11 (7.5A). Those all feed power to the 4wd control module. You could always try replacing the module first, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it....

Thanks gijoecam. I've checked the fuses. All ok. I've even found a replacement motor to try but nothing. I'm probably going to replace the CM. So far no money invested in the repair. I hear that there are 2 diff. CM's. I'll have to get the # off the old one and give that a try.
