2001 Sport Trac Air Charge Temp Sensor
Trying to replace the Air Charge Temp. Sensor on a 2001 Sport Trac. Cannot seem to locate it. Have seen various posts on the internet some saying its part of the MAF, which doesnt seem to be the case since I was able to buy just the ACT sensor. Others saying its by the throttle body, still others saying its on the drivers side manifold. A picture of its location on the engine, would be greatly appreciated this is driving me nuts.

I thought the ACT was usually screwed into the body of the airbox or the intake hose, at least on every ford vehicle I've had...

Don't see it screwed into the air box only thing on the intake hose is the MAF

They should all be similar looking...

Here is the ACT on my Explorer:

Thanks for the pictures. Must have changed something with the 01 Sport tracs, doesnt look like your pictures, mine doesn't have it on the intake or the air box. Starting to lean towards it being part of the MAF, since I can't locate it anywhere. MAF seems to have two sensors on it.

The IAT sensor was intergrated into the MAF sensor in 1998 so the only way to clean it is by cleaning the MAF sensor.

Starting to think that is where its located. Don't know why they sell an Act sensor separate from the MAF for the 2001, some with a screw fitting others without if it is part of the MAF. Got a P0113 code that started me looking to replace the ACT.

Thanks all ACT is part of the MAF, replaced MAF code cleared. Hopefully will get thru inspection now.
