2002 Explorer V8
Hi, I'm new to this forum. In fact yesterday I bought a 2002 Explorer 4.6L V8 and joined this forum-- yeah!

Anyway, I'm very happy with the explorer except for one little thing. It seems like it takes 30-40 minutes for the cabin to heat up. I test drove a 91 and i was sweating after about 20 min with the heat on full blast.

The temp gauge seems fine; the coolant level is OK; No leaks. Is this possibly a common issue someone else has encountered? Will someone tell me how to troubleshout this? Perhaps all I need is a coolant flush?

Thanks for any feedback! Scott

I can check the thermostat and coolant. Not sure how to check for a blocked heater core or blending door. The car does generate heat. If fact it gets plenty warn in there, just takes a while. I remember the other fords I used to own and I would be sweating with the heat on full blast...??
