Just curious as to what I should check first because the weather is starting to warm up and my AC is broke....and now are the windows are too! Dont have the cash to fix the AC so I NEED to fix the windows. This is a 2002 exploroer with 4wheel drive... not sure of the exact model... sorry.

First thing is first... a while back the passenger window broke on me. The window wouldnt go up or down. It would slide up and down if you pushed it but wouldnt stay up. After that the windows all broke and nothing does anything anymore. No windows will lock or unlock or go up or down. All of my lights and stuff work and the vehicle does nothing out of the ordinary besides the windows.

I do not have a manual to look at either so I dont know where the fuses for this relay may be can someone please help me out thanks!

Thank you I will check those later tonight. Anyone else have suggestions?

x2 on fuses. for the lights & controls. Should be a 10 amp one (red)

as for the window not staying up. That is more likely the regulator in the window I assume.

what number is the fuse you are referring to? I didnt get a chance to check the other ones mentioned in the thread posted about which if I remeber right #17 under the steringwheel and #6 in the engine. What others should I take a look at?

It is not the power window fuse breaker either because when I removed that the radio went off so it must still work for something.

What number fuse are you refering to?

I checked all the fuses mentioned in the other thread with no luck they look okay! I even took all the window switches out of my exlporer and tried them in a buddy's 03 explorer and they all worked in his car!

Anyone know what else to try???

Broken wire in the driver's door? Check in the rubber conduit thing.

If you can push it up and down the the gears are broke. I have not checked lately but a couple of years ago I only purchased the gears for $13 and replaced them at home. If the fuse is blown this may have caused it. I recomend eith fixing it or atleast unplug it till it is repaired. Then chase the other problem. If it is still shorted then it could make it hard to trouble shoot.

Well actually only the passenger side rear window slides up and down by hand no matter what. The other three windows will not go up or down on any electronic switches and you can not move them by hand either. I have pulled and check every fuse under the stering wheel and all look to be in order. It must be a broken wire or something! How does the panel come off so that I may take a look? Thanks again everyone!
