- 2002 Ford explorer V8 AWD
Hi I'm new here and I don't know if I'm doing this correctly so if I post this in the wrong place I apologize. I have a 2002 Ford explorer it's got a lot of miles on it but a lot of new parts also so it's usually running very well except for the tires which I haven't replaced everything in every tire rotors, calipers ,wheel bearings, hub ,knuckle. I'm trying to figure out I took my my car started like really having some serious power issues like getting up to speed sometimes I would go up a hill and it would drop 10 20 mi it'll stall out where I'm going down the freeway it will sell out when I idling it a light or a stop sign so I took it to the auto part. The guy at the store told me that first I needed to fix my exhaust which I already knew, it was also kicking a code for the O2 sensors being faulty. His suggestion was to fix the exhaust and it come clear the codes and then wait a couple days and see what happens with the O2 sensors cuz they could just be reading file to you they could be fine but not reading correctly because of the exhaust. So that's exactly what I did I did the exhaust I cleared the clothes I waited a couple days it did sound better and it did run a little bit better but it was still seriously lacking power and still dying so I got the accident sensors and had all four of them replaced. Now for the first couple days it seem to be better it was definitely have more power. It also the gas mileage jumped up like 3 miles a gallon which isn't much it isn't where it used to be but it was better. So since then I still have a problem my car is still stalling when I come through a stop sign or if it's idling for too long it stalls out when I'm going down the freeway it will bog down like it's the end is getting flooded and I have to sometimes pull over wait a few minutes sit and then started back up because the engine flooded. But I guess my question is what else could it be is it the Cadillac converters that are throwing everything off. Does anybody have any ideas of what this could be and if so you know a very inexpensive way to fix
