My 02 Explorer, 4 door XLT is getting up there in age and I wanted to get a blender door replacement to keep on hand. I've searched places like Rock Auto but all they list is the 2 door repair kit. Is there any difference between that kit and one for a 4 door?

Thanks in advance
Randy

Here is one that doesn't specify, but I'm almost certain they work for both 2 and 4 door models, don't hold me to that:

The blend door is what actually moves to control the flow of air, the blend door actuator (plastic gears) is what adjusts the temp of the air coming through by telling the door where to be in a sense. I found that the actuators fail more often on explorers, but wouldn't hurt to get both. Although I wouldn't just buy parts for your car unless you have a lot of excess money, or suspect the parts are failing. Best of luck!

Thanks, I appreciate it. The heater has had its moments lately of not behaving and I figured I'd have some of the parts on hand and since the blender doors seem to like to break I'd get one of them and now an actuator as well.
