Not even a month into owning our 2002 Mountaineer we have a new problem besides the rear jack cover handle being broken. the door panel trim being broken the drivers seat clunking and the trans being confused on what gear to be in around 35MPH cruise. The fiance and I did some running around in the truck, went home for about an hour, went back out and the truck would not start, as if the battery was dead. I put my jump box on it, it started right up, went ot pull out of the driveway and the radio flickerd on and off. once we made it to the parking lot of the store the car looses all interior lights and lost power stearing. I was just crusing into the spot I never checked if I had engine power, Probablly not since I had no power stearing? But the RPM needle was around 650 which is idle. Once we left the store we had to jump it (obviouslly) It mad it home in one trip but all lights were dimming and once windows were rolled up at idle it stalled out. I put my multimeter on the battery and I am getting ~13.78 volts. If its reading over 12V that means the alternator is giving out juice to charge the battery correct? And say the battery did go dead for some odd reason. Wouldent I loose my radio presets and what not? they were all intact. This is all new to me and I was wondering if anyone has had these problems. The truck has only 33k miles on it! I still am in dealer warrenty for another month or so, plus I work at the dealership I bought it from.
It figures I would only have problems with the truck I'm trying to turn my fiance into fords with...not my other '80's and '90's fords...
