- 2002 Sport Trac 4x2
Hello. new to the site. I love my sport trac. It has been up the river and around the bend, but it has been the best vehicle i have ever owned. My husband thinks I am nuts (he's probably right) but I forgive him for it. We are about ready to begin some pretty intense regular maint. New shocks, breaks, power break booster, silver star headlights, windshield wipers, etc... I run castrol 10-40 and Lucas oil treatment and regular unleaded gas.
A note about Lucas oil treatment: If you are not using it in your truck start with the next oil change. It costs on average of 12.00 at the auto parts store and replaces one quart of oil. I began using Lucas in a 1998 Peterbilt 287, and it made such a difference in performance i started using it in my pickup. I can now go all the way to 5,000 miles before an oil change without any breakdown in viscosity. (I have only done this once. I change the oil every 3,000 miles weather it needs it or not.)
I am not a mechanic but I love tinkering with my truck. (Hubbie helps) When this truck gives up the ghost, I will buy another Sport Trac That's how much I love it.
