I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with a Ford installed Autostart system.
My Best guess is, someone bought this in 2002 and brought it back the next year when the autostart systems came out.

I have the owners manual for the system, and I confirmed it's still installed. I just don't have an auto start remote. Any idea what model remote I need?

The Book says, "101820-9 Rev B" and is dated 2/03, if any of that helps.

Thanks,
-Dan

Sorry I do not know the answer to your question but I was wondering if you could tell me how you know you have the Autostart system? When I purchased my explorer it didnt even come with the remotes for keyless entry so I had to buy my own and now I am wondering if it has remote start/autostart but I have no idea how to check.

Or actually maybe this will work....
" For those of you who need to program a new auto start remote, you turn the ignition to the on position, push and hold the little over-ride button (mine is down on the left side kick plate near the hood release) for about 15 seconds, you will hear a chirp which means the system is ready to be programmed, just hit the lock key on your remote and the system will chirp acknowledging the remote has been programmed, continue to do this will all other remotes you have within I believe it was 20 seconds - then shut off the ignition and test your remotes. Worked perfectly for me."

It you look on the floor just above the e-break there might be a small square box with wires coming out. Mine looks like a bomb. That's the auto-starter.
