What should I look at if my heater is not blowing warm air? When the car gets warmed up and I have the heat on I can't get warm or hot air to blow? Any suggestions where to start looking?

Look under the hood. We had the same problem with the wife's 02 XLT, I popped the hood, and saw that the coolant reservoir was dry. I added a gallon of premix anti freeze, and VIOLA, she had heat. Really hot heat

Coolant level is fine. I just cranked the digital setting up to 90 degrees and it blows hot. So what is the issue when it is 20 degrees out and it is set at 72 degrees and never gets warm? Is there some sort of internal temp gauge that could be bad?

Glad it is not the heater core as I looked it up and it looks like lots to do to replace it.

those valves that determine how much coolant flows through the heater core run off vacuum dont they? may its getting stuck and needs the max vacuum to open enough to get any heat. that would be the first thing i would try, im sure you could get one off a truck in the junk yard for like $2 and swap it out and see it it helps. if not youre only out $2
