2003 Ford Explorer with a rear differential noise & ABS light.

Just joined the Ford Explorer forum to see what I can find out about all the problems that my 2003 Explorer has-rear end whine so loud now that you have to turn up the radio very loud to hear it. ABS light has been on since
35K-got tired of taking it back to the dealer to fix as within couple days to weeks it would be back on again. Have just over 100K and time to decide what to do with it. Anyone replaced the rear differential with a used one?
I think I may have wheel bearing issues also.

do a search for rebuilt rear diffs for 3rd gens, there is a guy selling Rear diffs for 800-1000 on here, WILL solve your problem, and i understand the swap isnt that bad. Your diff isnt going to explode, its just annoying. you can pay teh dealership a pretty penny for the redesigned ring and pinnon gear, or you can just drop in one of hte rebuilts that are sold here, which i belive have the redesigned R&P alread? again, do a search.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials section. Was the work from the dealer done under a warranty? Do you have a copy of the receipt for each repair? How many times did you have to go back for the same thing?
