2004 Explorer with a vacuum leak.

Hello!..i have an 04 explore with 89K. 4.0 liter, it sounds like I have a vacuum leak coming from the upper intake (very rough idle)..I just spent the last 2 days removing the upper intake and changed out all 6 blue gaskets with no change..it sounds like the puffing sound is coming from the intake itself from somewhere underneath it. I checked the vacume hoses and all appears ok. I even changed the plugs and wires with no change..any help or ideas would be appreciated!

maybe tri looking at some of the vacum hoses by like the fire wall. i have a cople that came off on my 94 and it did the same thing so maybe take a look back there

thanks!..yeah I checked all that..a buddy said its def. the fuel pump...the popping sounds he said are coming from within the engine and up throught the intake...a simply test will reveal the problem i gue$$.
