My explorer is a v6 and the battery went dead and all it did was click, i put a new battery in and everything comes on but when i try and crank it up nothing happens and my theft light is flashing. Does anyone know how i can fix this? My key does has the chip in it.

happens a lot, read up on PATSII, what happened is your truck lost its memory of the key, do you have another to try? hold on to your seat as the stealership can reprogram the key for you, reports of $100 to do it. If you can call around sometimes a locksmith can do it too, but not many.

Look in the manual i think their is a way to get it working w/o going to a shop. Good luck.....

i guess it did lose its memory. Its like it thinks someone is trying to steal or something. Ill try and find out more about this PATS system too.

cAN YOU JUST PUT IN A NEW IGNITION SWITCH?
