Hello,
I just had work done on my 2005 Explorer V8 Eddie Bauer. Serpentine belt, engine mounts, brakes, ball joints. $3100. The car was running well when I took it in for the work. When I picked it up, the idle was very rough and the check engine light was on. Now they want another $1200 to fix issue they are saying is due to using the wrong kind of oil. There is 160K miles on this vehicle. We want to use it to tow a 5000lb trailer for camping. Should I be putting more into this or bail. Does this make any sense?

Thank you

Now have been told that it is the cassette that keeps oil pressure on the timing belt. Of course it will still cost $1200.
