Gentlemen,
Ran into a small snag while replacing the timing chain(s) on a 4.0L. Pulled the motor, replaced the cassettes woohoo, all is well.
NOT
Motor came apart fine, replacement went fine, even the timing procedure is fine. But I blew it checking compression (don't shame me, pulled a stupid, it happens). Found on Friday that I needed to pull the left head (drivers) and replace the gasket. Hopefully just the gasket. Shouldn't be a big deal, maybe....
Need to know if someone's pulled the drivers side head without cracking open the timing cover for the lower cassette bolt? Will the cassette fit through the hole in the head? I'm at the point where I need to break loose the head bolts (yes, I'm replacing them) but it looks like the cassette won't slide through the hole in the head as I lift the head.
Anyone done this before?
