So my 2003 V8 was totaled and I now have a 2007 V6. It has the class III/IV tow package with the .373 gears. I am trying to confirm if the differential is open or a limited slip as I have seen conflating data. Thanks for the help.

The 3.73 factory tow option is an open differential on the front and rear on the 4.0 V6.

P.S. Update your vehicle information that appears under your user name.

Thanks. No need for friction modifier then. Good catch on me missing updating the old vehicle.

Factory fill on the rear is pretty good gear oil already just to let you know. Should be a 75-140 full synthetic on the rear if I remember correctly. However, I changed my front diff. out to a 75-90 Mobil 1 to get away from the 80-90 that is from the factory.
