Hi,
I have a 2009 Explorer Eddie Bauer with climate control but with no rear air. I bought it new about 3 months ago and since new it made a hissing sound coming from under the dashboard on the passenger side. Also, the defroster was cold at road speed and warm at idle. I took it to two different dealers and they would do nothing. I read a post here where someone changed a vacuum check valve, so I found it on the firewall (under the hood) and changed it. It solved the problem, but when I was looking under the dash I saw a vacuum port with six lines and a place for a seventh but nothing there. Should this be plugged or is it possible that they left off a line? There is a side window defoster vent above the a/c vent on the dash, it only blows cold air. Shouldn't it be warm like the heater? This is really discouraging because I bought this new and the Ford dealers are of NO help. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
