Hi Everyone. Just got Explorer 2011 a few days ago in the base trim , but curious if it is possible to install seats from top trim ( with heat, electrical control, leather). Any experience in the past? also i checked and there is not too expensive set of sits from Explorer 7th gen ( Leather with all electrical control) and curious if there is a chance to fit them without additional wiring control ? Appreciate for advices.
Cheers

Welcome to the Forum.
I'm not sure what you mean by 7th gen. A typo? You have a 5th gen and the latest ones are a 6th gen.
The 5th gen body style changed from those preceding it.
Members have swapped seats but you would likely have to do quite a bit of wiring and modifications if you want everything you mentioned to work. Hopefully, someone with more experience will jump in and provide more information.

I know that, to do this in more recent model years (of the 5th generation versions), you also have to do some reprogramming in the ECM, via FORScan, to "enable" the various features that would most likely currently be disabled in your ECM's software. Doing so tells the car that it now has the upgraded seats, and the features that go along with them.

Your center stack console may also need to be upgraded to one from an upgraded model, to include the various switches needed to turn some features on and off (seat heating and/or cooling, for example), before you could get this to work...
