2012 Explorer 4.0cyl Ecoboost

I'm having issues with my transmission slipping, and have taken it to the dealership. They are replacing the solenoid, along with a bunch of other parts because of the damage that was caused. They have now had my car for 3+ weeks, going on 4 weeks.

It has 30,000 miles on it, and it's having what appears to be severe issues.

Is this a common or uncommon problem with these cars?

Ford transmissions have had problems for years. I've had several Explorers with transmission problems, but all were repaired under warranty.
