2012 Limited sunroof shade cable replacement.

I reciently purchased a 2012 explorer limited. The clips on the cable for the sunscreen broke with the previous owner. They fastened the screen so it would not open. I did some investigating and as luck would have it, the screen retracted to the back. It is still in good shape but the clip that appears to be molded to the cable is broken on the passenger side.

Searching the forum and YouTube university the only references I can find are about replacing the motor.

Has anyone done this repair? I purchased the cable and went as far as removing the shade motor. But it looks to me like I would need to remove the complete headliner and remove the sunroof assembly to swap the cable.

Any resources for purchasing factory service manuals?

Welcome to the Forum Sean.
I don't recall seeing another post about issues with the shade cable. There is a member that has links to some manuals in his post Signature. Perhaps he will check in.
