See video from link above. At 60 mph or above the car begins making a grinding noise seemingly directly behind the instrument cluster. Still under warranty but knowing how they act with dash noises it would be best to have an idea what is actually causing this. Any ideas are appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum.
Earlier models had issues with 'A' pillar rattle. Some Explorers in later years had issues with the cowl making noises. Are you sure that neither of these is responsible for the noise? Seeing it occurs at 60 and over, I wonder if it is wind related? Sounds more like a 'clicking' noise from what I'm hearing.

yes clicking would be an appropriate description... I have no even considered wind being the culprit for it... i need to check the cowl at the windshield for play i suppose and look to see what could cause a pillar noise on mine. Thanks for the idea!

I think that of the 2 possibilities, the cowl might be the more likely culprit.
