Anybody know how I could get the reverse assist to work with the spare tire in the way? Or if I can permanently disable it? Reverse assist turns itself back on every time I restart the car. When in reverse with the spare tire in the way it beeps constantly until I disable it using the OK button on the steering wheel... Only thing is, the OK button is half broken and only works some of the time. Maybe I could unplug the two middle sensors? Not sure if it'd still work or if it'd throw a trouble code or if you can even unplug individual sensors haha. I have a reverse camera on the back of the spare tire so I don't need the reverse sensors anyway since I have a visual of the rear edge of the tire.
If anyone's wondering btw, the spare tire is attached by means of a trailer hitch spare tire mount.

Not sure about that link. Looks like the tire was painted to match the Explorer. There is a fuse for it but it also controls other items.

Yes, I painted the rim and installed it myself - that's my explorer ;) and I'm not sure what that link is or where it came from. Maybe copied over with the photo since I just copied a Facebook post I made.
Unfortunately removing the fuse throws the airbag light and wrench light on my dashboard, so that's not an option sadly. I appreciate the idea though!

It couldn't be s simple as unplugging a speaker for the alert? In my Excusion, there's a separate speaker.

Unplugging the speaker somehow also throws an error code, which is odd because it's just a two-wire buzzer. Maybe it's looking for resistance when doing the startup system check or something :/
