So I have a 2014 explorer sport with just over 100k on it and want to know what the ride height is on the front end fender wells. I only want to know because it sits a lot lower than the rear like 2-3 inches and I really dont want to take the struts apart and replace if this is normal. Also a lot of front end clunking over speed bumps and potholes. I was thinking control arms or sway bar links neither look bad. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Thanks

The front end is supposed to be slightly lower than the back that's normal. Noises over bumps is not normal. I suspect the strut mounts are bad. Its a common failure point. If you get the front end off the ground and pry bar underneath the tire see if it moves.

In regards to the ride height, I don't have an Explorer to check, but as mguy13sport mentioned, it is normal for the front to sit lower than the rear.
I believe one reason is that when you put weight in the cargo area, the vehicle will tend to be more level and won't result in much of a difference in the aim of the headlamps. Another is that with a slight slope, the air is directed over the vehicle. A more level position would see more air directed underneath resulting in a certain amount of drag.
