2016 Explorer Limited
Hello Everyone,

I recently performed the MyTouch to SYNC 3 conversion in my 2016 Explorer Limited. Right when the system is turned on, I get a message that says “911 Assist is Not Operational, Contact Dealer...”. I’ve done extensive research on this forum and others, and still haven’t found a solution. Here’s what I’ve done:

• Re-paired my iPhone via Bluetooth
• Performed Master Reset
• Disconnected car battery
• Cleaned APIM wiring harnesses

For the life of me I cannot figure this out, and this message persists every boot-up. Has anybody ever resolved this issue? I appreciate any help I receive.

There is a setting in FORScan called "Nav in Motion." If this is turned on you will lose the 911 assist (pretty sure).

I’ll check that out for sure and report back. The car has not been touched with FORScan yet and I am waiting the OBD tool. How do I know if “Nav in Motion” is enabled?

Sirius Travel Link is off and it says 911 assist in inoperable.

Try using the Nav while driving and see if you can. If I do, it says I can't.

I don’t think it’s enabled. I cannot type address or POI while driving. However, I do not see SiriusXM Travel Link at all in Apps.

Maybe you can try resetting the APIM.

Hold seek right and the power button until the radio shuts down and restarts.

Yes, I’ve done that too with negative results.
