Does anyone know if the tail light lens can be removed?

Rock hit the side of one and caused a little chip with a hole that is causing water to get in. If I can get it apart I'm pretty sure I can find the piece inside and get it back in place permanently.

Open the hatch, locate the screws and remove them. The bucket is held in by some tabs but simply pulls off when fasteners are removed.

As far as busting the bucket apart, that is a lot more complicated and maybe not a worthy challenge. Check online for a replacement, it may be your best bet.

If water inclusion is your real concern, simply put a dollop of clear RTV on the opening. You can trim it once it sets and YOU will probably be the only one to see it.

Good luck.

It is easy. Take the screws out after you open the hatch.

It slides out towards the back of the car.

I changed my bulbs to led a while ago.

I know how to remove the assembly. I want to remove the actual lens from the tail light.

Ahh. Sorry about that. Haven’t had to do that.

Oh no.....don't do that unless you absolutely have to do it! They are like the headlights...sealed...you have to heat them up and the glue and ovens and heat guns and so on... I BELIEVE... At least they seem that way.

If the piece is in there can't you pull the bulbs out and shake it around to come out a light socket?
