2017 Explorer with Factory Perimeter Security System and looking to add remote start..

I have the factory Perimeter alarm in my car when it was built but it does not have remote start. Can you change the program and have the remote start or do you have to add the Perimeter plus to get remote start. I really would like to add remote start. Please help and thanks in advance.

I did a quick search on "adding remote start" using the 'Search' feature at the upper right and found many threads on the topic. Some on different available types of remote start options. Here is the one that seems to cover the basic items.

Has anyone actually had success in having a dealer activate the fabled built in remote start? If so are there any dealers in the metro NYC area that would have a clue about it. I've called local dealers and they have no idea what I'm talking about but offer to install a $500 "plug and play"...
