Hey I'm sure if I looked I would find the answer but everyone has different answer so I would rather someone who knows and has it done to tell me, I just bought a set of 265/75/16s good year wrangler territory's I also got a roadbully lift which has been i'n my back seat for over a year lol, but I want to save that until I get a body lift and all done at once, so what insane to know is will the 265s fit with OUT the lift or any mods? Will I be able to just go tongue dealer and get my 4 235s off and the 265s on without any problems??? (please say yes lol) crazy canaidian tire boxing day sale so I bought with out checking first worst case sanirio I'll sell them if they don't for a 200$ profit)

Some minor math: 1mm = .04"

For my 2002 Ex which came with 245/70/16s =>

245 = 9.8" wide(.7) = 6.9" tall - call it 7" (sidewall);

therefore total tire = 2 sidewalls plus one rim, or 7"(2) + 16 = 29.8" diameter.

According to Tire Rack, the 2004 Explorer Limited came with 245/65-17s =>

245 = 9.8" wide (.65) = 6.4" tall (sidewall);

therefore total tire = 6.4" (2) + 17 = 29.8" diameter (same as mine)

Now with the tires you want to put on: 265/75/16 =>

265 = 10.6" wide (.75) = 7.95" (call it 8") sidewall:

therefore total tire = 8" (2) + 16 = 32" diameter.

So, your new tires would add about 1" radius (from the wheel centerline to the outer circumference) over the OEM tires, which would seem like plenty of room unless you are needing and using maximum suspension travel.

Additionally, your new tires would be about 3/8" wider on each side, so if your new wheels have the same offset, based on centering the tire, you would need another 3/8" free space or so on the inside and outside of your tire in order to not rub.

I would say take your 235 deminsions, do the math, and then measure the clearance that you have available.

Me, I think they will fit based on all the clearance mine has with the the 245/70-16s.

One final thing to consider - some tire shops around here refuse to install tires that are not OEM sized, due to fear of liability (too many attorneys around here).

I just thought if mercer21 was going to tongue the dealer, the bloke would do whatever he asked. We are a global family.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get them on, I been over a year trying to get my ex done, I might just get the bully lift on to at the same time, just on another note do any one got an suggestions on a cold air intake and exhaust system?

2.5" exhaust is about as big as you want to go, exit point and sound vs performance is really a personal choice. Check youtube for the different muffler soundclips, its a good place to start.

CAI is hard to sort out for 2004-2005 V6's, NHarris has a wicked set up.
