3rd Gen stuff for sale.

Then I'll buy something else for my DD....

Amen on that plan.

I love having a modified Ex because they don't exist around here but I'll be honest, there aren't many modified SUV's around here at all.

There a few lifted 250's and one 150 and that's really it.

I agree with all of you. I could have got something else, but it is cool when people tell you that you can not take the Explorer offroad, and then are amazed that you are keeping up with them on the trail. Ronin I too have several ideas I want to try on the Explorer.

If it's about acceleration then a set of numerically higher axle gears seems to work wonders even in an underpowered vehicle...so an Expy could still be a solid choice.

But I hear you on getting a truck that comes with a good setup as OEM equipment...I've been tempted to ditch my truck in favor of something badass like an F-150 Raptor on several occasions. One reason that hasn't happened (besides the obvious fact that something like that would be outrageously expensive), is I kind of like the challenge of making the most of the 3rd Gen X despite all of its limitations. Or maybe I'm just stubborn :D

i could regear my truck to 4.10s and add a limited slip to the front and rear diffs, but that kind of money, i think it would be more beneficial to just get an expy with 4.10s and ls diffs, and a v8(if they even come in the front of expys). Plus with my new job, i need more room for hauling stuff for deliveries.

There are lifted jeeps and 250's EVERYWHERE around me. I love that I roll up on them and I'm louder than their turbo diesels, now that I'm straight piped.... They are bigger than I am, that is until they get out and are only 5ft and need a ladder to climb down :D

the most modded ive seen an explorer in the area is tints and ugly chrome rims. and the occasional blue HIDs.

I have a feeling I'll be trading my 3rd gen up for a 4x4 v8 3rd gen and just using it for offroad stuff. Then I'll buy something else for my DD....

I'd suggest getting a 4th gen V8. Those 3 valves seem to outlast the 2 valve motor in the 3rd gens. ACTUALLY I'd suggest getting a 302 Explorer. :D

I do remember that I have a Hayne's Repair Manual for the 3rd and 4th gen Explorer. I'll do $10 + $5 shipping for a price.

Since some guy bought my old truck, if anyone notices it around here let me know. I'm curious at who would buy that bad boy. :p:
