Ok i have my heads on and the manual says 26 foot pounds, then 90 degrees or 1/4 turn then 3rd another 90 degrees or 1/4 turn and your done. Ok my question is the bolts in the timing chain hole or cassette hole are smaller are they torqued the same? They are alot smaller and scare me to tighten that much. But i will if its supposed to be. Thanks in advance
The reason i ask is because i used new headbolts and snapped the littler diameter one in half. I would think they would take less torque. I compared my torque wrench with my buddies and its accurate. its 10 bolts per side, but the 2 on each side inside the timing chain/cassette area they are smaller and have to take less torque. but my manual says as i stated above 26 pounds, etc. thanks

Anyone????

Does anyone know if the littler head bolts which go in the timing chain area are torqued the same as the 8 other bigger diameter bolts???

Got em torqued

I took back the new head bolts and got another set and retoqued em and all good now. Got the cams set, now just finish everything else. pictures posted in the next day or so on the cassette change on the pass side/RH side

They are not torqued the same. The book says the smaller 8mm bolts get 23-25 ft lbs. The larger 12mm get the sequence you are talking about.

Sorry, didn't look at the post date until I was already posted.
