2001 Ranger 4x4. 4.0 SOHC. Just recently, this truck started sucking up the gas quite quickly. There haven't been any puddles around. We just filled it up. 2 trips back and forth to school, around 65 miles total, we have gone through 1/4 tank. It is winter here. But this didn't happen early on. Just within the last few weeks. Any ideas? I was thinking a stuck injector. How would I figure that out, narrow it down?
Thanks

What is your actual current fuel mileage?

Based on this account, it would place it around 13mpg. Its my daughters truck. I "hear" about issues that pop up. Normally, she would get at least another trip to school and back before getting this low.

Fuel usage is directly proportional to the type of driving such as city or highway driving or combination of the two. Also many factors relating to the condition of the vehicle and the regular maintenance performed also plays a large part in the amount of fuel a vehicle will use giving certain driving conditions. Air filter, fuel filter, tire pressure, driving style, and amount of cargo carried can also effect fuel usage. It is difficult to say if 1/4 tank in two trips is a lot of fuel to use or not.
