4.0SOHC BLOWER!!! AND MORE MODS!?

Not that I know of. The stock SOHC throttle body is much larger than the OHV one, anyway.

The best retailers to look at for parts are www.truckperformance.com and www.performanceproducts.com . They usually get all the new bolt-ons when they come out. So just check there regularly.

If you would, I would like to hear how you think the throttle body spacer will benefit your engine. It must be good because a "dragracer" like yourself wants one.

Thanks.......

i dont really want info on it, but why wouldnt you just post the info you have anyway? by saying, "let me know", youre going to start a whole barrage of posts, PM's, and emails, when if you would just go ahead and post it, people can read/see it, and then ask questions.

yeah i'm interested in the air dam, lets see a pic. do you really think you just located something we don't already know about? do you really expect us to believe you know what your talking about? if you were a real dragracer or whatever you are trying to claim you would know that A. the damn spacer doesn't do anything at all on a fuel injected engine B. if it did when you actually got the power adders you claim you are looking into you would have to replace it anyways in order to make it work. go away, or start learning to use the search function and stop posting dumb crap

AHA! Now I'm getting somewhere

I have the 4.0 SOHC engine in my 97 XLT. To make a long story short, I can have the engine rebuilt by a dealer, or I can buy a remanufactured and install it myself.

I don't want to put that engine back in - too many problems. I want to put in the V8.

Is this possible. I realize the computer will have to be changed. What else must be changed? Engine Mounts? Is the tranny the same on both engines or will I have to swap it out also. What can anyone tell me?

I realize this will be expensive, but a remanufactured engine will cost me 2800 anyway. I can't work on the SOHC without all the specialized tools for timing - $800 dollars to buy those.

There are loads of shops that offer nice 5.0 motors. Some all the way up to 347 ci's. The problem would be the drivetrain. I know the bellhousing is a no go, also probably the tranny is a no go too.
I'd like to get some more power out of my V6 also. My burning question is, why didn't Ford offer a V8 with the Sport?

because the towing capacity is less than the four door so they assumed everyone who wanted to two a trailer would buy the full size and to them towing is the sole purpose of the v8

Its too bad they think like that. People like us are more interested in HP and torque for street driving... not towing. Yes, its nice to be able to tow something but if you rarely use it for that purpose its still nice to know that you have a 5.0 under the hood. I wish I did. :(
