well i just got the explorer back from the Ford Dealership and they are claiming the noise isnt coming from the motor but that catalytic converter. Anyone ever have to replace their cat?

Check the cat-cover first. It is the little heat shield that covers the cat. Sometimes it comes loose and rattles and people mistake it for other things.

Ford said they did that. I'm gonna try to look at that today. If it is the cat, what is the size of it and where would be a good place to get an aftermarket one?

well there is no heat shields loose so looks like i need a new cat. anyone have any idea where to get an aftermarket one and what size or kind i should buy? the factory ones are are real expensive so i'm not doing that.
