Hello,

I have disconnected all parts that are required to drop down the transmission. I also removed a total of 7 bell housing bolts including the two on top of the bell housing, 4 fly wheel bolts, and the starter. Somehow I can't seem to separate transmission from the engine. It seemed like there is another bolt or something that holding it back, but I don't see it. Not quite sure if there is something else that I need to remove.
When I use a pry bar from the bottom I can see it separate a little bit, 1/8 in or so. I don't want to force the pry bar too hard and break something unless I know for sure it is all clear.
Any suggestion would be great.

Thanks

If seven doesn't release the bellhousing then clearly ford put in a hidden bolt.. All kidding aside if you google image search the ford 4.6 v8 bellhousing you can see pictures of what the bellhousing looks like and where all the bolts should be... you can then find if you missed one. If you know the model of transmission then you can google image search that too.... it may show other clues.

I just pulled a ford 4.0 V6 SOHC engine... twice in three months... i feel your pain.

I finally got the transmission out with the transfer case still attached to it. It was couple hollow studs on the top portion of the engine that mated to the bell housing that are holding them tight together. Just have to pry between the engine and the bell housing hard to separate them.

Thank You
