anyone?

FGE2, blx3, rot2, mde2 these are all example of code on for vehicale. it is gona be on a sticker on under neith the hood atached the the main computer its self.

thanks a lot blk mk8

Would this code be by it self, or infront of a string of multidigit codes? The only 4 character code I see on my '91 is the one at the beginning of a rather long code...

the computer has two tags on it. one is on the computer where the main harness plugs in to it. it should be for digits like the obove i said. these will be big block letters that should apiew directly obove a very long serial number that will be in small leters. there is one more tag that is on the back of the computer some times where the computer service port is. this one should be basicly by itself. some times the code is in the door or under the hood but the ones on the computer are there for shure.
this is a link to the diablo web page just inlistrating where the tag is located and what it looks like on the computer. the picture show the back side of the computer. the front part where you see the white tag is where the code is located. if you have any more problems i will take pictures of the truck itself to show you where it is at.

Go check out my apten chip install text on my "homepage" I took pics of everything when I installed it.. that should help, and make it worth my effort of doing so, heh.

I own a 94 Explorer just like you. The code is on the PCM itself...like UMP1 or something similar. It will have bigger type than the other numbers/digits; that's how you can differentiate.

Might want to check out this link b4 you go spending $ on chips,

I pretty much agree with that article. What he states to beware of are things that alter sensor signals, like the IAT mod or changing the ECT sensor to gain power. I didn't see anything negatively discussed about chips themselves, just the "fake" ones that are offered on places like ebay.

If you need a pic of what the EEC code looks like, I can post that here.

Pretty informative article on EEC's. I also own a 94 X with a 4.0 and have done the flowmaster/k&n deal. Little more noise, little faster revs, little less fuel mileage. Considered a chip to change the stock settings. For this particular year, I was limited to a fixed chip that required the use of high octane fuel. What I asked myself was " is this $ well spent". For the amount of performance gain, I'd have to say no. Heck we'er talking about a 10 year old truck thats probably nearing the end of usefulness. If I had it to do over , I'd left it bone stock(just replace the cats as they were due) and buy a truck with more cubic inches next time around. Theres only so much juice a person can get out the 4.0 without dumping vast amounts of time and money into something that a stock V8 will blow away.
