I have a 2000 Ford Explorer and am having a problem with going into 4 wheel drive on a dry road. I know you can disconnect the brown wire and just have two wheel drive but, can't you just disconnect the fuse or something a little simpler? Also can a difference in the tire width make this happen. I'm afraid to take a long trip with it for fear of breaking down. It was always dependable.:salute

so fix the issues.

Make sure all 4 tires are the same mfg, brand, size.
