I just bought a vehicle for a donor to use the engine in my BII. But recently i have been thinking i might want to use the 4R55E transmission too.
When i bought it they did not tell me what was wrong with the transmission exept that it does not work. Since i have had it i can tell you:
It does not drive forward in any gear selector position but 2. Will move slightly in other positions but only enought to tell its moving. Maybe inch or less.
Does not move in reverse at all.
So my questions are:
1) any ideas what the problem may be with the transmission?
If solution known:
2)anyone know of any rebuild diary's on the 4R55E transmission?
3)Could i do it myself? i think i am capable, after all i do ALL of my other work on my own. multiple engine rebuilds (89' BMW 325i, 66' Ford Fairlane 427 CJ, 97' Chev sub and the list goes on), many engine swaps, only thing i have never tried is trans rebuilds.
