4r70w. Will it work???

Hi guys. Sorry if this is something that's already been posted. I have a 1999 Explorer 4x4 with the 5.0 and the trans has gone out in it. I found another 4r70w that came out of a 1995 f150 4x4 with the 5.0 as well. I was wondering if I could put the trans out of the f150 in my explorer with no problems? Any info would be awesome. Thanks guys.

From upgrading my 94 Mustang AODE to 4R70w internals I have learned that around 96 some of the electronic goodies in the trannys are different.

When I did the upgrades I also installed a stand alone tranny controller and it needed the newer parts to work correctly.
