4wd / 4wd low lights steady blinking?

hi, i have a 97 XLT and sometime after the stereo install the 4 wd and 4 wd low lights in the gauge cluster are steadily blinking. i was thinking maybe the switch beside the stereo may be the problem, since i broke the clip on the back of the switch.....but i figured most of you will know more about it than me.

any ideas or input? thanks.

Chances are the harness isn't fully connected, esp since the clip is broke. I'd check that first.
