94 Explorer XLT
I have a 93 explorer EB. it was involved in an accident. front axle and radius arm was bent on drivers side. bought another 93 explorer xlt because rear end was damaged and took the front axle out and put in on my EB. The problem I am have is the 4wd drive worked on the EB but axle was bent. And the 4wd drive worked on the xlt. But since I did the swap the 4wd engages on the EB but it binds up. It feels like when i drive forward, the back wheels roll forward an it feels like the front wants to roll backward at the same time. :banghead: I did take off the auto hubs when I put the axle on, ?? is it possible for them hubs to be put on wrong. when i put them back on i made sure they went all the way back to the hub. don't know what else to do hopefully someone else has ran across or may have heard of some thing like this. Thank Craig from Michigan

IS the gears the same ratio as the ones that where replaced with the new axle?

You Beat me to it... If the gear ratio's are different you have a problem.. You could raise the entire x by the frame and rear axle so you can fire up 4x4 with ALL tires in the air. If you have no more binding your gear ratios are different...

Thanx I'll give the a try saturday when i get off work. If i does not work I;ll let you know. Thank you
