4x4 not working think i got it but need some help

ok so i have narowed it down to the cad its not geting vac i traced the lines to the vac switch i have vac on one side of both switchs but not on the other im geting 14 volts at the plug in. But in 2wheel and 4wheel drive i was woundering if i sould get 14 volts all the time.

I've never worked on one of these but from the wiring diagram it appears to work basically like the 98 F150 4x4 I had, as far as control is concerned. You have two vacuum solenoids, one for 4x2 & one for 4x4. You must have 12v on the pink/orange wire to both solenoids all the time. The GEM grounds which ever solenoid is being called for, allowing vacuum to flow to the disconnect actuator.

The pink/lt.green wire is directing 4x2 and the dk.blue/yellow is directing 4x4. Fords diagram of the axle vacuum system leaves a lot to be desired!!

ok so if i got this right i should have voltage on one side or they other threw the pluge not a body ground the weird thing is im get it on both plugs all the time no matter what gear im in 4x2 or 4x4 also the valves will not open on ether side i think the valves are bad but i still get the voltage on both sides hmmmmmmm know we have a snow storm coming and i would like the 4x4 to work even if it is the valves i cant get them till monday is there a way i can bypass the valves and lock the front end by rerouting the vac lines to close the axle and will that do damage to the 4x4 system i know 97 and later used a live axle wouldnt that be the same thing for a temp fix

well i went forward and bypassed the cad 4x4 works great now that will fix it for know going to go to ford dealer and see if thay will give me some insite in to the prob see if thare are some gem code thanks for the help i will get this thing fixed if it kills me not to happy with the dealer that sold it to me i have had it for a week but its used and i cant give it back plus its a hell of a lot better than the 2000 van i had that thing was falling apart i hate chrysler
