So I was 4 wheeling today when I was trying to reverse on a flat suface there was a wierd noise. And it didnt go into 4x4. Later on I tried again and a sound, but i tried once more and it worked. But going forward is fine. The sound is a very wierd sound, mabye like something spinning then dieing, it was decently loud. Anybody have any suggestions?

I might had said something confusing, I was trying to reverse in 4x4, when i was already in it. But it wouldnt reverse. So you think its still the hubs?? That would give me a good excuse to get some WARNS!

So when you put it in reverse, what exactly happens? can you still drive in reverse or not? If you can and you hear the noise it is most likely your auto hubs (junk) cause mine did the same thing. So much better having the WARN manual hubs..

When I put it in reverse i got a wierd spinning sound, and i couldnt drive it in reverse. And I have Manuel Hubs not autos.

I don't know then. Maybe a tranny issue? I will have to let someone else handle this, I lack the knowledge :(

Yea my transmission was rebuilt about a year and a half ago. What do others think?

Well today in the parking lot i tried to get the noise again but it wouldnt do it. Im guessing when i first put it in reverse it had to do something with the transmission. I have a warrenty that is still good with the transmission so do others think it would be the transmission??? Anyone?
