5.0 Plug wires w/ metal sleeves?

Old plug wires had a metal sleeve on one cylinder, and I didn't pay attention to which cylinder it was for.

New wires have two metal sleeves. I assume these are meant for a specific cylinder? Any idea which?

they are there to protect the wires where they cross the exhaust manifold. if you could route them exactly like they were done from the factory.

mine were too short to do that. and more than two looked as if they would lay on the exhaust manifold. so I got me some silicone covered fiberglass sleeaving to put on my wires to protect them.

they should be on 7 and 8, drivers side closest to the driver seat.

I used one on #3 on the passenger side, as well as on #7 and #8. Reused one of the old ones; cut it lenghtwise and then wired it back together around wire.
